Adrian is currently seconded from the Bank of England to APRA where he is the Head of Innovation, and has responsibility for the organisation’s Data Science function. He also has Leadership Team responsibilities in the areas of Data Strategy and APRA’s Suptech journey. Prior to APRA Adrian had a number of Technical Leadership roles in Data Science and Technology areas of the PRA / Bank of England. He has spoken widely on the topics of Implementing Data Science and Big Data solutions for informing decision making. He authored the chapter on “Implementing Big Data Solutions” for the book “Data Science in Economics and Finance for Decision Makers”. He sits on the BIS Innovation Hub Regtech / Suptech Work Group; the IAIS (International Association of Insurance Supervisors) Fintech Forum and is part of their AI/ML sub-committee; and the APS (Australian Public Service) AI Steering Committee. When he is not getting excited about all things Tech, Data and Machine Learning Adrian likes to spend time with his family and do just enough exercise to claim he likes to stay fit.

Dr. David Whyte is currently the Head of Corporate Security and the Head of the Cyber Resilience Coordination Centre (CRCC) at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). As Head of Corporate Security, he is responsible for overseeing all physical and IT security functions that protect the bank’s global banking and research operations. This includes security systems engineering, governance and assurance activities, as well as leading the BIS’s Cyber Security Operations Centre (SOC) that performs incident response activities, continuous compliance with the SWIFT Customer Security Programme (CSP), and threat intelligence led cyber threat hunting. In his role as the Head of the CRCC, he is responsible for leading and developing the Bank’s international cyber resilience coordination activities that includes conducting cyber security seminars, cyber range exercises, and performing outreach activities for a central bank community that represents countries from around the world that together account for 95% of the world GDP.

​​Edmund leads the FCA's Advanced Analytics and Data Science Unit function responsible for developing and embedding data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence tools and capability across the organisation. He also runs the FCA's RegTech activities, including the FCA's Digital Sandbox and TechSprint events. Since joining the regulator in 2015 Edmund has led a number of transformation initiatives. Prior to the FCA, Edmund worked as a consultant within Financial Services. 

Mariama is a Program Director at AIR and works with a diverse group of partner organizations and other stakeholders to develop, launch and facilitate TechSprints and other innovation-focused programs. Throughout her career, she has successfully delivered advisory services to financial services clients, specializing in business transformation, program management, system implementations and process refinement. 

The efficacy of regulatory processes hinges on the seamless traversal of the data journey – encompassing collection, validation, and governance. This session explores the creating efficeint data governance frameworks for the collection, validation, processing and use of data and shedding light on how suptech solutions can harness the power of data to enhance regulatory efficiency and effectiveness.

Patrick is an Advisor at the Bank for International Settlement Innovation Hub (BISIH) Singapore leading the hub‘s work on SupTech/RegTech and Green Finance. Before being seconded to the BISIH Singapore, Patrick worked for Deutsche Bundesbank for more than 15 years in various positions, most recently as a Head of Section in Banking Supervision. Together with his team, he was involved in supervising some of the largest banks in the euro area. Furthermore, Patrick spent three years with the German Federal Foreign Office to work as a Head of Section at the German Embassy in Singapore.

Patrick has been a post-doctoral Associate at the Institute for Leadership and Organization at LMU Munich School of Management for more than ten years. His research has been published in leading international journals, such as the Journal of Product Innovation Management. Patrick holds a Doctor in Business and Economics (Dr. rer. pol.) from WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management, a Master's degree (Dipl.-Kaufmann) from the University of Mannheim, and a Bachelor's degree (BA in Business Management) from Napier University Edinburgh.
